Established in 1934 and located 60km's from Melbourne, Healesville Sanctuary is one of Australia's most loved tourist attractions and one of the best places to and interact with Australian wildlife.

Showing off animals and exhibits are not the only thing these guys do, they also operate The Australian Wildlife Health Centre which treats more than 1,500 sick and injured native animals every year. This centre is also used as a training centre for wildlife veterinarians. They also conduct research here into conversation medicine, clinical wildlife medicine, wildlife rehabilitation and keeping an eye out on wildlife disease surveillance.

This organisation is funded by the Victoria Government through the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning's Wildlife Rehabilitator Grants, but visiting the centre and direct donating goes along way in aiding the team continue their work.
